Rachel-Pi educational server with WiFi Access Point for tablet connection.


This example creates a low-cost server/player for the RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning) educational media system created by World Possible https://worldpossible.org

  • Tablet Frame Kit for Raspberry Pi and Arduino, Model AZ8, by Novel Design Lab

  • Amazon Fire 8" tablet (2018)

  • Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+

  • Power supply for R-Pi: use charger from Amazon tablet

  • 3-Ring Mini Binder, Logo, Kraft, by Novel Design Lab

  • Optional battery power: Lithium battery expansion board RPI power pack v1.2 with USB cable (v2.x not compatible)

  • Miscellaneous items: microSD card

Installed on Raspberry Pi:

Set-up:

  • Use internet browser pre-installed on tablet (e.g. Silk Browser, Chrome, etc.). Connect tablet's WiFi to the "RPI" access point. Use internet browser to connect to the IP address 10.10.10.10
